5 Reasons Why You Should Have a Wedding Video

Weddings are expensive and we always want to make savings so invariably one of the things that come up on the chopping block is Wedding Videos. I mean you already have the wedding photos, why do you even need the wedding video. I mean isn’t is like the same thing?

Well, we say no it isn’t. There are many reasons why you should have a wedding video, but here are what we think are the top 5 reasons why you should have a wedding video.

1) Wedding Videos allow you to Experience Everything

Your wedding will be such a big event. There’s so much going on. And you want to see everything. But you can’t. You won’t be able to catch everything. Not when there’s so much to do. You’re going to miss things. But with the wedding video, you can catch those small special moments. You can also experience the wedding from other people’s perspective. And not just from the point of view of the person you’re marrying. You can see the wedding from the perspective of you’re parents when the laugh and cry at your speech. The reaction of your guests as you walk down the aisle. And the fun time your grandparents are having on the dance floor.

Your guests can also leave special messages and well wishes. And some other little surprises. Who knows. Well, you’ll find out when you see your wedding video.

2) Wedding Videos Last Forever!

You plan this day for months. Years even. Really you’ve been planning this day for your whole life. And it’s only one day. One day where there is so much going on. And the day is over so fast. The day can be so overwhelming. You can miss out so much. What a pity it would be to have put so much effort, time and money into this one day, and have no way to relive it. No way to experience it over and over again.

Well with a wedding video, you can. You can get your money’s worth for all the time and effort you put into your wedding video

3) Share your wedding day with a Wedding Videos!

Not everyone can make your wedding. Relatives and friends who live in far away countries. Friends who can’t take time off. Or you’re on a budget and can only invite a certain amount of guests. Or perhaps you’re having a destination wedding, and not everyone can take time off to come to your wedding.

Well with a wedding highlight video everyone can experience your wedding as though they were there. Not only can they see what happened, but they can experience the emotions of being there as well. And guests who were at the wedding can experience the event from your perspective at the wedding altar and the moments they weren’t there for like the bride and groom preparations.

A wedding highlight video is easily shareable on social media like Facebook and Instagram, so need to worry about how to show the video to your far-flung loved ones.

4) Have a Wedding Video with Family and Friends

Weddings are one of the few times when your whole family will be together. Friends and family might travel from all over the world for your wedding. They might be loved ones that you haven’t seen for many years, and may not see again for many years.

Indeed this may be one of the last events in your life where all your family and friends come together to celebrate. It’s a sad thing to think about, but for some of your older relatives and friends might not be around in a few years. A wedding video is a great way to remember your loved ones, long after they pass.

But it’s not just for yourself, but for your children, and any of the generation to come. Sure, they might not want to see it when they’re young, but when they grow up, it will be all different. They can see the day when their parents got married. But they can also see how important those dearly departed family members were too your life. A treasured memory to pass down.

And those are our top 4 reasons why you should have a wedding video. If you want to see more videos, then see a selection of our videos here. If you want to find out more information than visit our website at www.thezweddings.com.au and contact us today!

Anastasia & Simon

No matter how much effort I put into my work, I find that the one element that is essential to making standout wedding videos and wedding photos is the couple. A great personality makes for great video and photos. So that’s why I knew that from the moment I had my first consultation with Anastasia and Simon, I had to shoot their wedding.

Anastasia and Simon are a match made in heaven. Anastasia is such a warm and generous person, and Simon has such great dry humour that does nothing to hide the fact that he can’t help but be a very thoughtful and caring person who always puts others ahead of himself. They’re like marshmallow and hot chocolate, like cheese and wine. You know they were made to be together.

Congratulations to Anastasia and Simon. We wish them all the best in their married life ahead. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings

Catherine & Marvin

Catherine and Marvin were actually from Queensland, but you wouldn’t know it from how many of their friends and family turned up for their wedding. This was such a fun and energetic wedding to shoot. There was so much dancing, that I didn’t have to work out for the rest of the week.

Not everything had gone to plan. The bad weather meant we had to be indoors for the wedding ceremony. But their choice of back up location was amazing. It was so unique to have a ceremony in a cinema. And you know, Catherine and Marvin are like a great Rom-Com. They’re such a fun-loving couple and you can’t help but cheer when they kiss.

Congratulations to Catherine and Marvin. We wish them all the best in their married life ahead. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings

For those of you that love a small, relaxed and intimate weddings, then Khadija and Michael’s Wedding is the must-have inspiration for you.

For Khadija and Michael, their big day wasn’t just about them. They wanted their wedding videos and photos to also be about their close family and friends coming from all over the world to this small South Coast town of Callala Beach to have a good time. And I know they succeeded because I got to say, I had a blast. They even had a magic show at their reception. But I think the most magical part of the day was their love for each other because without that none of this would have been possible.

Congratulations to Khadija and Michael. We wish them all the best in their married life ahead. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings

Marelda & Behzad

This was my first time doing wedding videography at a Baháʼí wedding ceremony. As I found out, unlike other wedding ceremonies where there is a celebrant, in this one the couple marry themselves. What a great tradition. It’s always an honour to be a witness these unique ceremonies.

And what a great location is the Highline Venue. I wasn’t sure about having a whole wedding day take place on one floor of a tower, but this venue is quite spectacular and glamourous and so convenient too. It gives such a regalness to their wedding video. I can’t wait to go again.

Congratulations to Marelda and Behzad. We wish them all the best in their married life ahead. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings

Jocelyn & Jason

When you have family and friends spread across many continents and countries, it can be hard to get everyone all in one place to celebrate your special day. And you never know what last-minute emergencies might come up that prevent your closest friends and family from being able to make it to your wedding.

This was the case when Jocelyn contacted me a month before their wedding. At the last minute, the doctor told her grandpa not to take the long flight from South Africa to Sydney. That meant, he could not make the wedding. It was so important to her that she was able to share the biggest day of her life with her grandpa. What she needed was a wedding videographer, and fortunately, Thez Weddings was there to help. With a highlight video, you can relive and share the best bits of your big day. And with our creative filming and editing techniques, you are able to share the emotions and atmosphere of the wedding day.

The wedding was held deep in the Southern Highlands at a beautiful rustic location called Sylvan Glen Country Estate. Located in Penrose it’s about a 2 hours drive from Sydney but the drive is well worth it. Sylvan Glen is a hidden gem, tucked away in beautiful nature. You know you’re in the countryside when you’re driving on dirt roads just to get there and a kangaroo hops ahead of your car, as though they were an escort. It has a unique rustic charm to it. From the chandelier at the outdoor ceremony to the unique interior design of the reception venue, there’s just no place like it. There’s just something so cozy and nostalgic about it. And it was perfect for Jocelyn and Jason, who wanted to have a small intimate wedding. A wedding that celebrates the close bonds of family and friends as Jocelyn and Jason start their own family together.

In my opinion, winter weddings are the best time to have weddings. We were able to catch some beautiful sunset shots in nearby Penrose State Forest at a location recommended by Gavin Cato from Gavin Cato Photography. You should check him out, an amazing experienced photographer who knows all the best locations in the Southern Highlands. And his wife, Michelle Cato did the hair and makeup for Jocelyn too. Such an inspiring husband and wife team.

We wish Jocelyn and Jason all the best on their married life together. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings.

Josh & Emily

Not every couple choose us for both wedding photography and videography. I find that couples tend to search for a wedding photographer first, before looking for a wedding videographer and so since we started off focusing on wedding videography instead of wedding photography, by the time the get to us, they’ve already booked in a wedding photographer.

However this wasn’t the case for Josh and Emily. As soon as they saw our work they just had to book us for both wedding videography and wedding photography. They just jived with our whole style, and once we met them, we did as well. I don’t think this is essential, the most important thing is that you’re comfortable and at ease with working with your photographer/videographer, but it’s always a bonus when you’re thinking on the same level. That’s why it’s so important to have these meetings so that we are all able to understand each other from the beginning. So even when Emily was running late to the ceremony, she’s not missing out of any of those memories that we’re capturing on our camera. And that’s how we can get those spectacular shots.

Congratulations to Josh and Emily. We wish them all the best in their married life. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings!

Jessica & Daniel

Have you ever met two people who you knew instantly are meant to be together? Who can make each other laugh so easily. This was the case when I first met Jessica and Daniel. They are just so in touch with each other.

It was then that I knew we had to take them on as clients. I knew that whatever we did, we would always get an amazing wedding video. And I wasn’t wrong. They were such a breeze to work. We generally don’t like giving too much direction, we prefer to keep our wedding videos candid and real. But when we did direct them, they could easily do it. And trust me, it might sound easy, but that’s not something that the average person can do. But I suppose they’re not an average couple. From their personalities to their Thriller inspired Bridal Waltz, they were not afraid to be themselves in front of their friends and family.

And what a great location is Gibraltar Hotel in Bowral. A classy venue, with the amazing landscape of the Southern Highlands. Every time we do wedding videogrohy or photography in the Southern Highlands, we always find the locations spectacular.

We all wish them a lifetime of happily ever after. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings.

Fergus & Elvira

They may have come from opposite sides of a vast continent, Fergus from Ireland and Elvira from the Philippines, but these two could be no more a like. They are a match made in heaven. They share each other’s dark sarcastic sense of humour and a close connection with their families so of course it’s no wonder that they share a love of each other.

I always love outdoor weddings. They provide so much natural beauty for your wedding video and wedding photos. But the down side is that so much more can go wrong outdoors compared to inside. And the weather did try to conspire against us on this day, threaten us with rain. I was worried that we would miss out on the amazing landscape of St Michael’s Golf Club at Little Bay. The dramatic cliff tops facing the Pacific Ocean right on the edge of Botany Bay. You wouldn’t want to miss out on them. But fortunately the rain held off long enough that we were able to proceed with the ceremony and the photoshoot. Fergus and Elvira are lucky that way. You have to be when your soulmate is half the world away.

Congratulations to Fergus and Elvira. We wish them all the best in the life together. Thank you for choosing Thez Weddings.

Thimira & Tharanga

Thirmira & Tharanga are such a cool and fresh couple and you can just see their style in their wedding video. They approached us knowing exactly what they wanted. They didn’t just want traditional wedding video, they wanted one that represented themselves as a couple. Not just emotional, but fun, fresh and modern. And this wedding video just reflects them.

Their wedding was a mix of a traditional Sri Lankan ceremony and a modern style reception. They had a traditional Sri Lankan ceremony at Bradley’s Head Amphitheatre right on Sydney Habour. It was such a beautiful cinematic location for their wedding video. Unfortunately, there were a lot of strong winds on the day, but nothing could topple their love.

The Reception was held at Taronga Zoo. I never knew you could actually have your reception there. I mean, you basically get to have the whole zoo to yourself and you also have the most amazing view of Sydney and the harbour. You can get one of a kind wedding photos and videos with animals from all over the Earth and one of a kind wedding photos and videos of the most spectacular harbour in the world.

We wish Thirmira & Tharanga nothing but the best in their married life. And thank you for choosing Thez Weddings.
